Üdvözöllek a honlapon

 

Vándor Várhegyi Ibolya illusztrátor és meseíró, erdélyi magyar családból származik, 1957. május 24-én született. Édesanyja, Várhegyiné Tóth Margit Magyarországon, Tarcalon, (Tokaj) született, édesapja pedig Déván.

 

Tanulmányait a dévai magyar középiskola elvégzése után, Kolozsváron, egy műszakirajz tanfolyammal folytatta, majd 2010-ben web-design tanfolyamot végzett. 1991-ig Déván, a Bányakutató Intézetnél dolgozott, mint műszaki rajzoló, majd, mint tervező, utána pedig, 1991-től a dévai Corvin Kiadó munkatársa lett.

1990-ben a Hunyad Megyei Hírlap gyermekrovatának rajzolt, valamint verseket és meséket írt.

 

1999 decemberétől a Kispajtás ismeretterjesztő folyóirat társszerkesztőjeként dolgozott 2006-ig, amelyben meséi, versei és rajzai jelentek meg. Jelenleg is munkatársa ugyanennek a folyóiratnak.

 

2007 decemberétől tagja az Erdélyi Magyar Irók Ligályának. Ez idő alatt majdnem 50 gyermekkönyvet illusztrált, úgy saját szerzeményt, mint világirodalmi történeteket.

 

2011-től az Egyesült Államokban levő Janice D. Green, valamint Russell Bittner amerikai írók könyveit illusztrálta. Könyvei megtalálhatók a budapesti Széchényi könyvtárban is.

 

Bár nem tartozik azok közé, akiket a sors elkényeztetett, mert sok nehézséggel kellett megküzdenie, (szemeláttára hunyt el apja, nehéz szenvedés után rákban, édesanyja pedig úgy hagyta itt ezt a világot, hogy nem ébredt fel többé a kómából) gyenge egészségi állapota ellenére, mégis Isten segítségével és szívében reménnyel telve, mindig erőt talált arra, hogy talpra álljon és tovább harcoljon.

Author’s biography

 

Viorica (Violet) Vandor, author and illustrator of children’s books, was born on 24^th May 1957. She comes from a Hungarian family from Transylvania, Romania. Her mother was born in Hungary, in the area of the famous Tokaj wines, and her father in Deva, a Transylvanian town. Sensitive and talented, Viorica (Violet) has been attracted by the world of art and literature ever since she was a child. After she graduated high school, she did a mechanical drawing course and worked for 14 years as a designer for the Institute of Mining Research and Design of Deva. Since 1991, she has been an employee of “Corvin Publishing House” of Deva, working on the position of writer and illustrator. Since then, this publishing house has published a lot of her stories, poems, illustrations and caricatures. During December 1999 – 2006, she was a co-editor for the children’s magazine entitled “The Little Friend” (“Kispajtas”) of Corvin Publishing House, magazine which published her stories, poems and illustrations.

 

In December 2007 she became a member of the “League of Transylvanian Hungarian Writers” (Erdelyi Magyar Irok Ligaja). Of the almost fifty children’s books illustrated and written by Viorica (Violet) Vandor, a few can be found at Szechenyi National Library of Budapest.

 

Even though life was not always kind to her, as she had to overcome many difficulties (she saw her father die of cancer and her mother never wake up from a coma), with a poor health, Viorica (Violet) Vandor has always found the strength to rise and keep on fighting with faith in her heart and God’s help.
